The covenant has various grogs, but instead of giving full stats, I’ll be using throwaways for this scenario, to encourage players to pick them up and put them down with a minimum amount of fuss.

The covenant has 8 grogs who are experienced warriors, and are equipped for their role as guards. The Sancho family, which opposes the characters, also has 8 grogs, and these have virtually identical statistics.  This is a new thing for many players, because in many games, player characters are fundamentally better then the NPCs.  This changes how the players must consider strategy: you can’t just bull through the mooks.

Veterans

Characteristics Int 0, Per 0, Pre -1, Com -1, Str 0, Sta +1, Dex +2, Qik +2

Flaw: Weakness (pick any personality trait to exaggerate).

Personality Traits: Loyal +3, Brave +1

Combat:

Axe and heater shield: Init +1, Attack +15, Defense +14, Damage +6.

Bow: Init +1, Attack +11, Defense +8, Damage +6.

Great Aze: Init +3, Attack +13, Defense +8, Damage +11.

Kick: Init +1, Attack +6, Defense +5, Damage +3.

Throwing knife: Init +2, Attack +8, Defense +7, Damage +2.

Soak +8 if using armor and shield.

Fatigue levels: OK, 0, -1, -3, -5, Unconscious.

Wound penalties: -1 (1-5), -3 (6-10), -5 (11-15), Incapacitated (16-20).

Abilities: Awareness 5, Bow 6, Brawl 4, Carouse 5, Covenant Lore 3, Folk Ken 2, Great Weapon 6, Guile 2, Latin 3, Leadership 3, Lisbon Lore 5, Portuguese 5,  Single Weapon 9, Stealth 6, Survival 2, Thrown Weapon 5.

Equipment: Weapons, metal scale armor, travel gear.

Encmbrance: 4 when armored.

Sailors

The coveannt also has 12 sailors, who might act as warriors. The Sancho family have rather more (12 on their ship, 20 near their warehouse).  Their stats are as follows.  The pirates also use these statistics.

Characteristics: Int 0, Per 0, Pre 0, Com –1, Str +2, Sta +2, Dex +2, Qik –1

Virtues and Flaws: Affinity with Single, Weakness (pick an interesting one)

Personality Traits: Brave +3, Loyal to Covenant +3.

Combat:

Longsword and Round Shield: Init +0, Attack +13, Defense +9, Damage +8

Longsword: Init +0, Attack +12, Defense +6, Damage +8

Short Bow: Init -3, Attack +9, Defense +3, Damage +8

Fist: Init -2, Attack +6, Defense +3, Damage +2

Soak: +6, in light armor and shield

Fatigue Levels: OK, 0, –1, –3, –5, Unconscious
